Discord (OpenClaw)

390,823 stars

OpenClaw's official external plugin (@openclaw/discord): connects OpenClaw agents to Discord as a bot — guild channels and DMs, native slash commands, app events, reaction/presence wakes, plus advanced surfaces like realtime voice conversations, continuous voice transcripts and automatic meeting notes. DMs default to pairing mode; channel access is governed by allowlists and mention gating.

Host

Acts through your Discord bot token: every channel and message the bot can see may enter the agent context, and the agent speaks as the bot to your users; with voice features on it also records and transcribes. Who may drive the agent is decided by DM pairing, guild allowlists, mention gating and role routing — access controls you must configure yourself.

It implements OpenClaw's channel plugin contract (official inventory: Channels discord, contract transcriptSourceProviders), loads into the OpenClaw Gateway as the @openclaw/discord npm package, and is configured through OpenClaw's channel config structure. Hermes' Discord support is its own built-in platform command; Claude Code has no persistent-channel concept at all — the package cannot load in other hosts.

Risk

Misconfiguration means strangers commanding your agent: with pairing/allowlists unset, anyone who can DM the bot may issue instructions, and behind the agent sits your machine's tool surface. Group chats are multi-party controlled input — prompt injection arrives straight through the chat window. Voice transcription turns other people's speech into stored text, with privacy and compliance implications.

Install prompt

Paste this to your agent. It deliberately contains no tool subcommands — check the tool's official docs for commands.
